Gospel for Asia "Jesus Wells" Program

In a village in South Asia where many lived in poverty and need, it seemed there was little hope for the people. Water was scarce in the rough terrain, even in the wettest years, and the people were struggling. The village's existing wells would typically dry up in the summer months because they were not drilled deep enough.

But then Gospel for Asia was able to bring hope to the village by digging a Jesus Well. Now, the villagers can get as much water as they need at the Jesus Well near GFA-supported pastor Darpan's church.

And the kind gesture touched the hearts of the villagers and made them more open to hearing about the love of Jesus. Darpan had been laboring in this area for years and had experienced opposition in the village.

But after provision was made for a well to help these people, they began to see how much he—and Jesus—cared for them. Many people in the village have even found new hope in Christ and are eagerly worshipping in Darpan's church.

"Many of the villagers believe that it is God who brought this Jesus Well for them," Darpan said.

These special wells, called "Jesus Wells," are a tangible expression of God's love for people in South Asia and are just one of the many ways GFA is reaching out and sharing life-giving hope among the most unreached in South Asia.
