Prem

Prem comes from a Hindu background. As a young man, he believed in hundreds of gods. But he was also an alcoholic and very disobedient. Tired of his difficult behavior Prem's parents found him a job in a distant city. But after a few days Prem was afflicted with viral fever and returned home. Though he initially started to recover, the fever returned. When he was admitted to the hospital the doctors said his life was in danger with little chance of survival. He was unconscious for three days. Prem's parents offered sacrifices to their gods and sought out magicians. Nothing helped. Though they hated Christians, they finally contacted Narendra, an evangelist working with an Indian ministry. Narendra and his fellow missionaries fasted and prayed for Prem. They provided medicines and went to the hospital and donated blood. Slowly Prem started to recover. Prayer continued and Narendra shared the gospel with the whole family. Prem and his family accepted Christ as their Lord. Today Prem is a completely new person, a believer who witnesses of the power of Jesus Christ.
